I can tell you why the change of tone. He has Darren Jones at his shoulder giving sound political and comms advice. A deeply impressive young man, authentic and smart. I’m sure he had a major part in this speech, and used phrases like snake oil salesman in his interview with Beth Rigby that morning.

There seems to be some *confusion*
among Reform supporters over Nathan Gill being one of them

“But, but, Reform didn’t exist when he took his Russian bribes”

“But, but he was in UKIP”

“But, but it has nothing to do with Farage, he barely knew the guy”

So here’s a little history lesson 👍🏼🧵

The 5,600 hectare Griffin Forestry Estate in Perthshire has been sold to Gresham House FF VI LLP for £145 million. With mature forestry and 68 wind turbines, it is probably the most expensive rural estate to have been sold in modern times. andywightman.scot/2025/08/grif...

Maybe you should ask the newly appointed Leader of Warwickshire County Council for clarification. He is at least old enough to attend university, albeit, not to have finished it - clearly.

I had measles as a child. Awful! Without herd immunity babies too young to vaccinate are at huge risk.
alisonterry.bsky.social
Absolute nuts that measles is not a big part of the UK Science curriculum. Edexcel GCSE syllabus currently merits only a tiny ref ‘Explain the body’s response to immunisation using an inactive
form of a pathogen’ 🤷🏼‍♀️ Surely looking at the history and impact of vaccination is crucial.

To clarify, I’m not condoning the situation, becoming the consumed rather than the consumer is something we should all resist. Just making the point that the principle of individualised pricing has been around for a long term.
alisonterry.bsky.social
What is the difference in practice though. If you are not actually buying something it makes no odds 🤔

Anyone who has a credit card has been subject to this for years. Your credit rating is used to assess the interest rate charged. The Delta Airlines tactic is the same thing on steroids.

Nigel Farage keeps some interesting company, doesn't he?

This is 'Millwall Paul' - a far-right troll on X - apparently hanging out with the Reform UK leader on December 18th.

We have more to come on Farage's relationship with far-right activists later this week. Watch this space... (1/x)
"Millwall Paul" on X boasting he was "just having a chat with the next PM before his [GB News] show"

One of the less-noticed but more entertaining political subplots of this parliament is Labour MP Polly Billington writing repeatedly to Claire Coutinho to ask her why she is condemning green policies that she introduced herself while in government.

It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve been forced to write to Claire Coutinho again.

Interesting data nugget in this @jburnmurdoch.bsky.social piece

The decline in people finding a partner is falling more steeply among those without a degree

Data suggests the decline in birth rates around the world may have more to do with decline in relationships than financial/personal decisions

Very conflicted about county election delays. I’m very keen to put our failing Tory councillors in West Sussex in front of the electors to get them removed. But spending so much public money on councillors for a year seems crazy in the midst of a cost of living crisis 🤷🏼‍♀️ #westsussex #elections

My unpopular opinion is that the government is doing a lot. Most of it is good, some of it is very good, and some of it is not good at all. It has a narrative and a sense of moral purpose - to defeat populism through competence and service. It has an ideology, which is left technocrat.
