Honored to have @stevenspohn.bsky.social as this month's interview subject for my Substack. He's the maestro of deflecting online bullying, so I asked him to share his experience using wit and wisdom to stand up for himself and others. Thanks, Steve! horriblethings.substack.com/p/interview-...

Your work as an artist isn’t to become the “best.” Release the concepts of achievement and competition.

Rather your quest is to explore the furthest extension of your range of expression. Find the edges and discover what’s there. #art

Beginning prep for my next audiobook. This one is non-fiction, and on a very timely and important subject. Proud to have been chosen to narrate. #audiobooks #audiobooknarrator

It’s so awful. So cruel.

Disgusted with those who created and ratified the Big Terrible Bill. Shame upon them. This bill will result in devastation. Shame!!

My family has been through some stuff… and we’ve talked a lot about how much our support system (friends and family) helped us. Over the years it’s developed and I’m so proud of my hubby for launching his new Substack where he shares what we’ve learned, and are still learning, about helping friends.

Today I’m launching a Substack called The Friend’s Guide to Horrible Things. It’s a series of short lessons focusing on how to care for friends and family experiencing life’s unpredictable disasters. Check it out, or pass it on if you think it might help somebody. horriblethings.substack.com

“Requires cultural literacy.” Mic. Drop.

People challenging gender norms are not intentionally dressing "ugly," as the original poster suggests, nor are they trying to gain "victim points." They are dressing in a way they find beautiful, but according to a different language. Appreciating that aesthetic requires cultural literacy.

"How could you say that you did not know who he was?"

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass speaks out on the forced removal of California Sen. Alex Padilla from a DHS press conference.

DHS claimed the senator "interrupted a live press conference without identifying himself."

The Trump Administration's forcible removal of Senator Padilla today is un-American and unacceptable. Our elected officials have a right — and a duty — to conduct oversight of President Trump's abuses of power.

As much as the administration wants to silence dissent, we the people won't back down.

These books keep getting better--I'm proud to say that Jane and Lila have taken up permanent residence in my brain as a pair of compelling bad-asses. Thrilled to get to voice them and bring your words off the page.

LA parents: your kids are probably feeling stress from the fires. My kid asks me about what a “perimeter” is & knows the names of the fires. A random kid told me that if I was checking the Watch Duty map, that there are “no new fires.” Stress manifests in them differently. Extra hugs needed.
