My "I have become so ensconced in internet culture that I am incapable of thought outside the confines of meme formats and it has become a hindrance to my ability to consume and process information let alone interact with others" shirt is raising a lot of questions already answered by the shirt.

The idea that world events and life-or-death political decisions should turn on what one elderly US citizen sees on a TV sounds like the premise for a 1970s dystopian satire written by the most hysterical Marxist novelist seeking to magnify the moral rot and decadence of a declining American empire…

“One former senior Trump administration official from the first term tells Zeteo that…when Trump was publicly dangling the idea of attacking Iranian cultural sites…the president indeed… asked…aides what they thought of striking the specific targets offered up by the likes of Hegseth &…Sean Hannity.”

For my piece today at @zeteo.com i wanted to truly underscore how punishingly stupid american fascism is now. Like, my original proposed headline for this was:

Our Democracy Is Imperiled Because One Old Man Won’t Stop ‘Yelling’ At His TV. zeteo.com/p/trump-addi...

Fascinated how the guy who made superstars of Matt Walsh, Candace Owens, Jordan Peterson, and Michael Knowles thought that unfettered racism and every phobia in existence wouldn't eventually include anti-semitism

This ep made me consider the alternate reality where RIM adopts Android early in its life, 2010/2011 or so. It took them so long to release the Priv that hardly anyone cared about the company by the time it released.

Why did the big biopic/dramedy not cover the Priv? Everyone's favorite phone!

Similarly describing him as an "expert on antifa" rather than an "antifascism researcher" further legitimates antifa as a proper noun in a way that makes zero sense
karlbode.com
you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate
NYT headline: "Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats"

subheadline: "Mark Bray was teaching courses on antifascism. Turning Point USA accused him of belonging to antifa, which he denies. His flight to Spain was canceled abruptly on Wednesday night."

Okay. So another Dem just tried to fight me in my mentions over Amy McGrath. It was pure armchair analysis, and weird.

But here's why I'm bringing it up: we HAVE to get it together, fellow Dems.

We're seeing democracy-eroding acts from this administration Every. Day.

Ah, so the animations they release on YouTube won't have the Nintendo characters visible to prevent them from being sued by Nintendo.

With the chip staying about the same, I wonder how much of the feature set is moving to my pixel watch 3/45mm.

The White House Antifa Roundtable is one of the best displays I’ve seen of this-is-how-bad-it’s-gotten — just a sewer of open fascism, dementia, morons and freaks, and incoherent rage.

The new following feed on The Verge's homepage is a real savior when prime day rolls around and the avalanche of affiliate links engulfs the website.

I thought the, "I haven't seen the tweet," excuse was bad in the first trump term.

The, "I haven't been paying attention to the words and actions of the federal government I run a branch of," excuse is maybe a touch worse this time around.

First time the Pixel 10's 100x "zoom" impressed me: dogs chased a squirrel to the top of this telephone pole and it hunkered down.
Zoomed-in shot of a squirrel at the top of a wooden pole, lying as flat as possible. Clear blue sky in the background.

I think MAGA is effectively a magnetic field that's scrambling the democrats' instruments. It's hard to calibrate a strategy right now, and sticking to one's principles first and foremost is probably good intuition. And I think articles that overconfidently diagnose are mostly junk.

It’s a core First Amendment principle. This is utterly lawless behavior, for which there will be no (short-term) consequences.

That he does it so casually, as they are walking away, in front of cameras.

Rightly confident in his impunity.

The lawsuit boils down to two things: the “great level of deference” owed to the Executive Branch when federalizing the National Guard, and the obvious truth that the Executive Branch is, at the moment, completely out of its gourd and posting through it. www.theverge.com/policy/79204...

In other words, there's no denying this creates a new vector to prevent sideloading an app like ICEblock that didn't exist *before* the identity verification requirement.
ammartin.bsky.social
Google claims that sideloading is "fundamental to Android". But let's be honest, if the Trump admin requests an app takedown, will Google comply? And if they do, do they "un-verify" the developer?

android-developers.googleblog.com/2025/09/lets...
From Android developers blog post on the topic

Does this mean sideloading is going away on Android?
Absolutely not. Sideloading is fundamental to Android and it is not going away. Our new developer identity requirements are designed to protect users and developers from bad actors, not to limit choice. We want to make sure that if you download an app, it’s truly from the developer it claims to be published from, regardless of where you get the app. Verified developers will have the same freedom to distribute their apps directly to users through sideloading or through any app store they prefer. From Android developers blog post on the topic

Do I still need to register my apps if I’m only distributing to a limited number of users?
We recommend you register. It's a simple, one-time process that will allow anyone to download and install your app. However, if you prefer not to, we are also introducing a free developer account type that will allow teachers, students, and hobbyists to distribute apps to a limited number of devices without needing to provide a government ID.
