Oh neat! Yeah, I'm not a big movie person generally (and there's not a lot of consistency to the movies I watch and like! 😅), but I can totally see how that would be enticing for people who are! Probably similar to Good Reads for books?

Oh also, a funny cultural epiphany.

I was wondering why people were going to sleep, or acting like they were staying up too late, while watching the sunset.

It didn't dawn on me until a few minutes later, that with the higher latitude, the sun doesn't fully set for long periods of time there!

I watched it in the original language with subtitles, which is how I always watch foreign media. The feeling and emotion always carries through so much better that way! Highly recommend it.

This was SUCH a cool movie. Different pacing, cinematography, culture, geological settings, and INCREDIBLE graphics. I loved this!

Mrs Rukus had a birthday today. She is my favorite person on this planet. Next Saturday we are celebrating by throwing an 80s Prom. So I did the little Promposal today. All 8 of our adult kids will be there. It’s the first time they’ve all been together in 10 yrs. Excited is an understatement ❤️

I haven't watched it in a while, so that's just my memory of it from the time. But it solidified the Deathriders for me and merged it into the Jon Moxley that we had watched from day one of AEW, and reconciled how Deathriders Jon and MOX were one and the same, and still gave ALL the fucks.

Also, the way it was shot, what he was talking about, how he dug into WHY he lives and breathes this, and why he cares so much, and how people have taken it for granted and tossed it aside for their own personal glory... it was so great.

One thing I really liked about this was that he essentially began with, "So I guess you all need me to explain this or something.", and I was like, "yes please." 😂

By the end of it, it all clicked, we all got it, and we were ready to go on the ride because we could at least see where it was going.

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

Unexpected tall people problems.

My air fryer broke. I bought a new one, different model.

The angle at which you put it into the machine is for short people.

Thus I have to do it multiple times focusing on keeping my arm lower than is natural.

... Just weird tall people problems.

I vaguely recall watching and enjoying Apollo 11, but I just could not bring myself to care about Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck! 😂

Deep Impact was SUCH an incredible movie by comparison (came out around the same time). I SOBBED at the end. 😅 It was so good!

I'm about 20 minutes into this and I LOVE IT. I've never seen a Norwegian action/disaster movie before! The differences in pacing, cinematography, the gorgeous scenery, the fascinating geological setup in the mountains, the cultural differences - THIS IS SO COOL.
