Not sure why Blue mana players seem to get the ire of MTG players generally (?) after both facing and playing a little Blue, at worst they are like, a little trollish but moreso about controlling the pace a little, Black mana players being able to kill anything and siphon life makes them cancer.

Peeping Tom (film): rather unsubtle about its Freudian psychosexual “camera as phallus” angle initially, but the plot mechanics still use the idea in a meaningful way, only to broaden & complicate the drama with some late reveals that enrich the captured “images” & human guilt. Incredible. 9/10

Poltergeist (1982 film): feels *mostly* like a Spielberg film with flashes of Hooper’s visceral & grotesque ideas, a little more relaxed and inquisitive like the former, but missing that magic touch for its sentimentality to hit, so it’s a bit inert, & the plotting has some wonky notes. 5-6/10

146. In the Mouth of Madness (film): another Carpenter film like the rest for me sadly - meh. I think the concept could work better as a fantastical mystery moreso over horror, because the spooky elements are kinda generic and lame. Too talky and up its own ass compared to Fulci’s Lovecraft. 6/10
