Read our Op-Ed in @croakeynews.bsky.social in which we call for an inclusion of natural and cultural heritage protection and place-based wellbeing as key pillars in climate adaptation and mental health strategies at #COP31

COP31: an opportunity to widen climate conversations to include nature and cultural heritage protection
If Adelaide is selected to host COP31, it will be an opportunity to centre the lived experience of climate breakdown,

Putting out such massive announcement during an active scheme aimed at ECRs and then retracting 2 days (!!!) afterwards it closed is in total and utter disregard of mental health and wellbeing of early career researchers who are usually in the most vulnerable position in academia…

I'm going to celebrate my own achievement as a woman in STEM! I was the first woman ever elected to the Council of the Space Industry Association of Australia. I have some stories for sure ..... but I also had great colleagues 🧪 #WomenInSTEM #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience

If you want to know how concerned to be about climate change, talk to a climate scientist. Very.

If you want to know how concerned to be about the rise of fascism, talk to a historian. The ones I’ve spoken to are as concerned about our time as any other time in the last 100 years.
If you want to learn more about the timeless allure of Ancient Egypt and the recent discovery of the tomb of Thutmose II you can listen to my ABC Saturday Breakfast show interview with Amber Cunningham. Starts at 2h 34 mins and warms up after he first question www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...

Great privilege to participate in the Science Meets Parliament in Canberra this week #SMP25 and get direct insides into how policies gets shaped, understand successful advocacy and be able to speak up for science with parliamentarians! Thanks @science for organising this great event!
From research to reality and advocacy with impact, in these sessions at #SMP2025, two stellar panels explore the role of policy advisors in decision-making and how to turn your ideas into action.

Happy #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience!

One obvious thing institutions can do to help reduce the attrition of women in science is to stop hiring men who were fired from their previous institutions for sexual harassment.
International Day of Women and Girls in Science | United Nations
The purpose of the day is to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls.
