The Long Neolithic lives as a sense of wonder. It sits in distant fields and summons us to not only witness its stone persistence, but to engage with its slow release of mystery. Its power bends not only the landscape, but our sense of story. – Dr. K. Brophy #StandingStoneSunday

In legend, Faust sold his soul for knowledge. The pact became Europe’s great warning... beware the hunger to know too much. Yet his story endures, because we all long to ask the same forbidden questions. #FolkloreSunday

Shot and bullets, all found on #Bexhill beach. Most of the musket shot dates to the Napoleonic War period 1803-1815. Soldiers of the King’s German Legion were based in the town from 1804-1814 and they used the beach for firing practice. There were also smugglers battles on the beaches.
There are six round musket shots at the top left of the picture. There are six pistol balls on the top right. On the left under the balls are early bullets used in muskets. Under them improved design musket bullets and at the bottom two early rifle bullets. On the right under the balls at the top are lead pistol bullets then 20th century pistol bullets then at the bottom 20th century rifle bullets. They are all displayed on a glass shelf.

The term covers both, I think, given the size this is more likely to be Risso's dolphin.

We are sorry to hear you have failed to pass your examination, and can only advise you to try again. We do not at all agree with your idea that “the only thing that can be done for you is to run away to London and try to get on the stage” nor do we see how that would help you.

Take a moment to enjoy the colours and structures of a leaf in the October sunshine.
sun shines through a medium-sized green leaf, still on the tree, showing its spines and tiny gaps. top right it looks like a small worm has taken a winding nibble through a now damaged section. the leaf is yellow and brown on the edges. blue sky. other leaves blurry in the background.
