I noticed around 2015 the tone of a lot of retro gaming/computing content gradually changing from being “I am making a video about this thing because I like it and/or find it interesting” to “this thing has a following, let’s make clickbait to exploit that following, and use it to build a ‘career’”.

LCP is one of the best C64 titles ever written, an excellent early take on virtual pets, and a game I still think would work really nicely as a standalone smartphone app.

Yeah, the main difference I’ve noticed with wood types is 1.) how heavy it makes the guitar 2.) how easily the guitar body dents if you drop it.

Someone at workplace just converted a PNG to a JPG by printing out the PNG image and putting the resulting printout in a flatbed scanner, whereby the resulting scan was automatically saved as a JPG. 🫤

In their Telegram group, the hackers took issue with Discord earlier saying the breach impacted a "small number of government-ID images." The hackers posted a screenshot of what they presented as the size of the stolen data: 1.5 terabytes.
Then on Wednesday the hackers started posting Discord samples of user data. That included selfies of people holding up their ID documents. At least two of these are from people holding identity documents from the U.S. and Canada. Some of these are images where the individual person is clearly visible; others are screenshots of larger folders containing thumbnails of the images.

Worst reactions: Flu vaccine in 2021 made me delirious and sweating like I was in sauna. For an hour. Covid booster in 2023 made me feel oddly actually ill for a week. As in bedridden.

(Thanks for the reminder BTW; now looking into where I can get a private covid vaccine locally.)

I mean, back when I was at university the openly Tory lot* were always oddballs which you’d run a mile from, so looking at this lot, not much has changed…

* party members etc, not just “I always vote Tory because my parents do”, which was depressingly most of the people on my course.

I find it very telling that politicians of all parties tell us plebs to go and do dead-end apprenticeships (basically working in a menial job for well below NMW), yet these Oxbridge elites are happy enough sending their own offspring into higher education…
