The Little Ladies have hit the hot flushes as the Riot Women! & it's so good they've cast an actor who sings in the key vocals role again (even if Rosalie Craig looks more Charlotte Cornwell than Julie Covington). Everyone's top notch but Jo Scanlan is currently taking the biggest piece of my heart.

She was excellent in The Years recently.

Actually, that completes the circle, taking it back to the delightful enunciation of Fwanck Muir on Call My Bluff...

Apparently, it was because a little girl the Llewelyn-Davis boys were playing with pronounced her Rs with a W. Thus Barrie became her "fwendy". Apocryphal...

Who would have thought that Ron Mael not only has immaculate taste but immaculate reasoning too. This is a beaut of a read from start to finish.

"The Who were charming to me when they were writing more situational songs. They didn’t necessarily concern world shattering issues, but instead really beautiful, miniature statements. [and] I love the artwork with the Heinz Baked Beans."

#RonMael of #Sparks on #TheWho Sell Out

The Who Sell Out album cover. Pete Townshend has a giant deodorant under his arm and Roger Daltrey is sat in a tub filled with baked beans whilst holding a Heinz can. He also has baked beans on his face, clearly indicating that he has been eating them.

Remember going to the newly-opened McDonald's Charing Cross between shows, treading on air, exhilarated beyond wildest expectations. John Woodvine in the queue next to me: I envisaged him ordering "35 Big Macs, 40 fries & a Filet'o'fish for Trevor."

Diane Keaton in her Manhattan apartment with Buster, an Abyssinian, photographed by Jill Krementz in 1977
black & white photograph of young Diane Keaton smiling and standing next to a white refrigerator in a barren-looking kitchen. her cat Buster is crouched on top of the fridge playing with/swatting her hair in the upper right hand corner. she's wearing a long skinny white scarf with a dot-grid pattern, a high-neck white blouse with an ascot/kerchief around the neck, and a black blazer/skirt or blazer dress over what looks like a vest

Lobsters had set up home behind that fridge.

Nobody mentioning Looking For Mr Goodbar on these tributes. Never gets shown anywhere. It was a v brave and bleak film and it divided opinion but once seen never forgotten. And it was the first film to give disco nocturnal danger and edge.

I was genuinely taken aback at Looking For Mr Goodbar. And then, Interiors. But I shouldn't have been. Annie Hall was the shock, after Godfather.
