Crossing lots of things off the ol' to-do list.

Not the important things, obviously, but progress is progress.

Her picture should be first, and his picture should be not at all. This isn't about him. It's about HER.

Congratulations to Maria Corina Machado, a true advocate of peace.

Please don't distract from her accomplishments by mentioning the names of those who didn't win. It's the attention that they seek. Not giving it to them will be the ultimate loss.

No lightning bugs in TX? In GA, we used to catch them in a jar at night and make night lights... that were dead by morning. 😬

Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”

I connected with a teenager once about how scary panic attacks can feel. Her mom lit up and said "see you could be a doctor one day" and got teary-eyed. Best thing I could have done for both of them.

I talk about being an ADHD parent often when I'm counseling parents about these symptoms.

Recently went to ED for abd sx, assuming I needed a CT. Normal vitals, labs, and "didn't wince" when people palpated even though I told them it was tender. Only once I said I also didn't wince with IUD placement did the female res take me seriously. This wouldn't have influenced most male providers.

Okay, but to be fair it did smell rancid for the past week.

It's a pretty big deal that the NYC Bar Association--one of the most prominent and respected bar associations in the country--is accusing the President of ordering the "unlawful summary execution," i.e. murder--of civilians in violation of US and international law. www.nycbar.org/press-releas...

Oh, to have the innocent optimism of a child in spite of it all.

I hope you are right, Anne.
