There's always been an English language requirement for work & student visas. You'd need IELTS, TOEFL, etc unless you graduated from a course taught in English. I expect the vocabulary isn't designed for those that know, rather the intellectually challenged who cling to slogans. "Reformed wording".

This thing from Mahmood seems rather strange. People applying for #ILR have to be on a work visa earning significant wages, paying NI, not having recourse to public funds, passing the life in the UK test, not having a criminal record, having to pass an English test to get the work visa, etc.

My most centrist dad take is that most governing politicians deserve sympathy because almost every policy that's actually any good for the country is unpopular, and almost every popular policy is probably bad.

Johnson's Brexit approach was far worse than Chequers IMHO but 20ppts more popular 1/

The same people were somehow all over Abaraonye's "any means necessary" statement but when Musk calls for violence, they love it. There was a man who called for Starmer to be shot yesterday (pretty sure the police will be in touch with him). Two-tier fascism from the midget-fuhrer brigade.

It was my sons 21st birthday party yesterday and his girlfriend and her sister, both Muslims of Arabic descent, stayed over at my house the night before and after, because they were so fearful of travelling across London by tube to get to us. Angry doesn’t cover it.

That was the case a few months ago. Now it's just pure garbage. There's literally no signal left. It's all pajeets in India getting paid a few cents per pointless tweet. It's basically a (low) revenue stream for blue tick accounts.

It does feel like #twitter is mostly random paid accounts tweeting utter nonsense and other bot accounts in Russia and India agreeing with the nonsense. Seems like 80% of everything there is now garbage. Guess it's lucrative for low income countries to make some cash.

I'd even say for word processing and light work, Asus Zenbooks are probably on par or better than the Air, but I need the pro. The ProArt 16 looks interesting, but 14 is as high as I'm going to go. And while interesting, the M4 Max blows it out of the water and even before we talk battery. Defeat.

I've put off buying with the hope that #sanpdragon would do what the M1 chips did for mac. They're nowhere near what I need. I hope I can find a decent tiling window manager but no use living in denial any longer.
