Can we stop normalizing treating adults in their twenties and early thirties like they are still kids!?!

I get that it's harder to start out and be independent at a young age these days, but that doesn't absolve people from taking personal responsibility for their actions.

We’ve always been public education advocates through and through, but now that we’re back on this Chromebook bull again we are seriously considering alternatives.

Test taking involves scrolling back and forth repeatedly. Writing assignments are done in slide decks. Not to mention the kids playing Roblox, Minecraft and shovelware GimKit games all around to you. Personally I’d flip my lid out of frustration if I had to deal with that everyday.

I review his homework with him, and have seen the tests he’s taken on the Chromebook. Holy crap, the whole experience is pretty terrible. Kids have to navigate multiple third-party apps with clunky UI and disjointed UX from one end to the other to get through the day.

We’ve seen the difference moving away from tech-centric learning has with him already. He struggled with the 1st-3rd grade Wonders reading curriculum that was mostly on Chromebooks. In 4th grade the school switched curriculum to books and physical projects and he flourished.

Funny that @moreperfectunion.bsky.social came out with this. We were just discussing how terrible tech-centric learning is for our son. We’ve seen this directly since he entered middle school and started a curriculum the revolves around doing everything on a Chromebook.

I just discovered Revocation last week, and I'm hooked. When it comes to musical tastes, my sub-genres have sub-genres. I'd call this Blackened Pro-Metal. All the harsh vocals of Black with the complexity of Prog. So tasty.

I have never met anyone in real life who is 1/10th as concerned about trans people existing in public spaces as the media and politicians are. Most people, and I mean this in the most complimentary way possible, truly don't give a shit. You learn someone's pronouns and you go on with your life.
