me remember what's going on in a story (plot-wise but also re: voice, character, etc). when I'm done, I do a full revision/edit on my own and then I send it off to a beta for final edits (tho I don't have one right now so it's just me). then it's a spot check + formatting in the ao3 editor and post!

17. talk about your writing/editing process

I tend to write and edit concurrently—I write in big (or small 💀) chunks and when I reach the end of a chunk (usually when I need to rethink what comes next) I edit what I have to make sure it flows. I'm a pretty slow writer so editing as I go helps +

15. favorite writing weather

cool, clear, windows open for a breeze, sunny

and I like when the weather outside matches the weather I'm writing about. the other month I was writing about a late summer rainstorm rolling in while a late summer rainstorm rolled in and it was glorious

lots of things inspire me but mostly other stories! sometimes it's something I want to try writing myself, sometimes it's a dynamic or a setup I really like, sometimes it's something I hated and want to do better

10. longest time you've let a draft rest?

years. my oldest (still active!) wip for this fandom is from june 2021. I have a magicians fic I started writing in 2019 that I just picked back up. I'm a serial shelf-and-(hopefully)-finish-later-er (I'm just so bad with third acts. I hate endings.)

9. writing time for the last fic I posted

light that casts long shadows (ao3.org/works/70704131) took about 9 months to get to its final form. I wrote at least three versions of it and it went through multiple revisions for the zine, and then I expanded it (went back to an earlier draft) for ao3

8. if I had to write a sequel, I'd write one for...

I've toyed with a sequel to homecoming (ao3.org/works/50424751) where jimin settles into pack life. and I'd love a sequel to awake the storm (ao3.org/works/69235496) where god!jimin remakes the world in his image, but that's too much story for me
