It was suggested I do an intro post:
I’m a disabled middle-aged nonbinary queer liberal, happily married to my best friend since ‘95, & a parent of 4 adults.
I’m a gamer, LOVE learning, Episcopalian, & open to questions/convo.
DMs are open w/a no creep/crypto/maga policy
I ❤️ the block feature!

what the rhetoric was like there as I’ve watched him spiral. It sucks to hear at least some of it was coming from the left, it definitely helped radicalize my uncle.

*he lives in one of the 2 “painted ladies” overlooking the ocean he owns, zero idea if that’s a bad area or just full of tourists 🤷

I have an uncle who lives there who came into $$$ several yrs ago, since then he’s gone from being a left leaning liberal & rolling his eyes at the doom & gloom reports to telling me it’s dangerous to leave his house* & I’m a bad person because Dems are the “pro-slavery party.” I’ve been wondering

I had someone compare my situation to Job. I was like, naw dude, my family is still alive & honestly that was creepy.
Our priest & I talk about these aspects of christianity often on our zoom calls, & though she’s a very empathetic woman & really tries, she still can’t quite get the being sick stuff

In my experience there’s a small but very supportive community on here.
Welcome!

Seeing a lot of posts about the need to #mask (thank you💜) & it got me thinking:
I have to use a ♿️ when I go out anywhere now, & I’ve stopped getting the looks & comments about my 😷. My spouse still gets looks until it’s clear he’s w/me. Any one else seeing similar behavior?

That was validating, I’d already blocked them so I didn’t see whatever nonsense they were spewing.

Love it when past me gets stuff right!

I’m just gunna out myself here.

I ~almost~ never mask.

I also ~almost~ never leave my house.

& those two statements completely align b/c I’m sick b/c ppl fear stink eye more than being responsible for disabling others or putting their loved ones in the position of having to become caregivers.

People are VERY huffy and stompy about this post but just as an inside opinion from someone in LC community, It’s hard to believe there is solidarity with the disabled and high risk people who need to avoid covid when our one primary ask is met with accusations that, hey, maybe we’re just CRAZY?
chantzy.bsky.social
Dear liberals,

If you identify as a leftist who believes in intersectional justice & fighting fascism, please wear a mask in public. It’s one small act of solidarity with the millions living with long Covid - and a reminder that caring for others includes protecting their health

Ooo, congrats on the migraine meds!

I love that you’re able to work with your doc & have a solid plan.

body knows what nutrients it needs. Which I’ll readily admit is kinda woowoo.
It’s become such a clear pattern since I started taking Wegovy that my whole family has noticed it without me saying anything.
So I don’t always have to ask for things, I have a tiny fridge & a small pantry near my bed.
belasco.bsky.social
For me switching to eating more often & sticking to what I’m craving whenever possible has made a difference. It’s required listening to my body in a new way, but if I’m able to do that I get longer good periods.
When I fall out of that pattern it’s a stark difference. I figure to some extent my

#Pacing for severe #me/cfs has created an interesting mental hang up for me. I spend so much time being disciplined & husbanding my energy that I really don’t want to do things that require discipline when I have energy to spend, like meditation.
I just wanna be w/my family & play video games.

Ooo, I super get that!
We have old fashioned candy dishes in our foyer that always have seasonal candles in them. A few weeks ago we had to throw out candy because it had gotten old, which was a first. Yet we’re going through leafy greens & apples faster than ever.
Taking this stuff is wild!

Half my gaming time is spent compiling shaders 😑

This is 100% what happens when I take prednisone - everyone else becomes an asshole & my brain is convinced I’m the Hulk

I lied & said I have hypertension, though, legally they’re only supposed to ask if you have any of the things on the list & not for specifics.
Took an age & the help of a pharmacy tech who helped me fight, but I got my booster!

I know, as a parent, we aren’t doing the right things for our kids to get kudos, but I still want to call out how wonderful your defense of your son is!
I’m much more accustomed to arguing w/other parents about needing to listen to their kids than seeing someone who’s just doing it, it’s heartening.

This is what they’re posting repeatedly. I’ll grab a screenshot, too.

Man, the AI generated bot posts are going ham with #me/cfs stuff today.
I’m seeing 4 or 5 of identical posts under different accounts for every 1 post that’s different.

I don’t have enough energy to report & block every one of them, but if you have the energy to report even a few of them please do!

Very interesting, I haven’t heard of using mico doses, but my dr put me on it (starting w/a lower dose than normal & titrating up slowly) for long covid after seeing a difference in ppl who had LC & started taking it for weight loss.
It’s definitely helped, though it isn’t a panacea by any means.
belasco.bsky.social
I’m so glad! When I was Dx’d w/long covid I was very grateful to find them, & as my health has declined they’ve continued to be a huge resource for me. They have an account here where they frequently link to support & educational groups as well as their latest info:
