That and the focus on health care and the simple but clear message that Republicans are taking health care away to provide tax breaks for wealthy donors is paying off because polling numbers reveal that most Americans are blaming Rethugs for shutdown.

They are first and foremost focused on governing (legislation, court battles, constituents) to demonstrate to Americans who don’t pay attention to politics that they are the party serious about governing and accomplishing what they can.

Many Americans (and trolls) expect Schumer and Jeffries to act like reality TV stars who make dramatic statements, throw their drinks in Rethugs’ faces and flounce off the set. Schumer and Jeffries are committing the sin of actual governing, which is boring and not emotive.
