Business conservatives liked the old way because it gave them the best of both worlds. They could always threaten a worker with a call to ICE, but ICE wasn’t just showing up on its own all the time to reduce their head count unexpectedly. They probably thought Trump was going to do more of that.

The deal was: they demagogue about “illegal aliens,” they militarize the border, they deport people who get reported by their bosses… but they don’t actually go looking for undocumented workers at farms, in kitchens, or on job sites. It was there to discipline labor, not create a shortage of it.

The number of people on here who refuse to engage with what somebody actually says and instead pick fights with people they've made up in their own heads is mind-blowing.
It's also disturbing, because people who refuse to deal with the world as it is are not capable of making the world they'd want.

Another reminder. Anne Frank and her sister Margot didn't die in gas chambers. They died of Typhus due to overcrowding at Bergen-Belsen women's camp, which also experienced outbreaks of tuberculosis and typhoid fever.
A reminder this happened earlier this week at Trump’s massive concentration camp in El Paso:

“The cases of tuberculosis and COVID-19, two diseases that spread through the air, have underscored concern about the conditions at Camp East Montana and other immigration detention centers.“

You cannot reform this.
Burn ICE to the ground, piss on the ashes, and salt the earth.
Then build a professional agency with standards and accountability to accomplish the critical mission they were supposed to be doing.
Courts say ICE broke the law—thousands of times. The abuse continues anyway. This isn’t enforcement. It’s systemic disregard for constitutional rights, enabled and defended by the Trump regime. Republicans are treating the Constitution like toilet paper.

I call bullshit on the DOJ release of names in the Epstein files

They are including names that show up in press clippings that Epstein happened to forward or that were forwarded to him!

This is a ploy to cover for the fact that Trump's name is REALLY in the files--& a smear of innocent people

New in PN: Trump is clowning his evangelical base

"Trump now knows religious conservatives and their motivations well enough that he doesn’t feel a need to perform anymore. Like his supporters, he’s stopped pretending he’s anything but his worst self."
Trump is clowning his evangelical base
He's not even bothering to pretend anymore.

This is where he's going. He knows that there's a line about to be crossed. Something's going to come out, like pictures or video or some shit of him raping a kid, and he's going to claim that it's all a fake by the demented and evil democrats.
In latest batshit screed, Trump calls Democrats “demented and evil.” So much for toning down the rhetoric.

Not remotely surprising.
And of course, this is something that Trump could use to get her out. Deport her to France, where she has citizenship. France does not extradict their own citizens, so she'd be safe there.

Less than 200k jobs for the year.
That's basically no economic growth at all.
"Previous estimates showed the US economy generated 584,000 jobs in 2025, the first year of Trump’s second term, which was deeply discouraging.

Now, the picture is far worse: The newly revised, final data shows that the U.S. economy actually added only 181,000 jobs..."

I like David Boreanaz, and I liked the Rockford Files.
They could make this work as long as they don't try to make David Boreanaz into James Garner.
Cause there was only ONE James Garner.

Shorter Nick Fuentes:
"I'm an unfuckable skidmark. Instead of working to become a better person, I want to punish women for having standards."
...
You all need to understand that a guy like this cannot be repaired, cannot be reasoned with, and will not ever have a Road to Damascus moment.
He will
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”
