While anybody with eyes and ears could see 20 years ago that Putin’s regime is a kleptocratic dictatorship and serial abuser of human rights, fascist Russia’s genocidal war on Ukraine should have been the final straw for foreign firms. Why do they continue business with the Kremlin? 3/x
b4ukraine.org
Russia’s withdrawal from Europe's anti-torture convention proves once again that it is a land of lawlessness, where human life means nothing. Western businesses have no place in a brutal dictatorship where torture is state policy. They must refuse to participate in Russia’s crimes—and get out now.

Totally. NATO members + EU states have been WAY too slow to support Ukraine, to see fascist Russia for what it is, and to appreciate the scale of the threat. Even now, many in Canada and Europe don’t understand that Ukraine is defending the wider democratic world - the Kremlin is at war with us too!

In the face of such fickleness, betrayal and grifting by fossil firms, it’s incredible that certain premiers and Cons continue to believe (or lie) that renewables are “unreliable”.

Precisely! Smith, Moe and the rest of the dinosaurs pushing fossil fuels (and actively undermining renewables) have some serious ideological blinders on. (That‘s the charitable explanation - no doubt for many of them, continued support for oil + gas is entirely mercenary.)
