WR 134 captured from my patio on 14 nights in July & August 😊🔭

This nebula around the star WR 134 was shot on the EdgeHD 8 for a total integration time of 58 h in mono with Ha and OIII narrowband filters and merged with RGB stars.

#Astrophotography

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social‬ what do you see?
WR 134 is a dying Wolf-Rayet star about 6000 light years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. The surrounding structure is formed by WR 134 blowing off massive amounts of its shell and its intense radiation. WR 134 is the second from right of the four lined up stars in the centre.

Thanks a lot, Thomas! 🙂

Merci beaucoup, Martial! C’est très gentil ☺️

Vielen Dank, Andreas! 🙂 Es ist auch ein außergewöhnliches Objekt mit dieser Mischung aus Dunkelnebel und Emissionsnebel im Hintergrund. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!

Two nights of 3:45am alarms, blazing full moon lighting the sky like daytime and washing out the light of everything else, comet included. Then two days of post-processing battles, as comet processing is maddeningly tricky.

But I finally pulled it off: here is C/2025 A6 Lemmon. 🔭

Thanks a lot, Clément 🙂 Yes shooting with Hyperstar at f/2 is really amazing! You’ll notice there are certain problems with bright stars causing internal reflections in the Hyperstar optics but that doesn’t diminish the fun for me. Other scopes have spikes around the stars and I have rings so what 😅

Thanks a lot! That was my thought too: The Gecko comfortably resting on a Ha blanket 🙂

LBN 437 The Gecko Nebula captured from my dark site in southern France last month 🇫🇷 😊🔭

It was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar for a total integration time of 8 hours in OSC and Mono. The red nebulosity was enhanced with Ha data.

#Astrophotography

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social‬ what do you see?
The Gecko Nebula LBN 437 is a dark nebula embedded in the red emission nebula SH2-126. It lies at a distance of about 1.200 light years from Earth in the constellation of Lacerta. Its shape resembles a Gecko hence the name 🦎

The Tadpoles in Auriga shot in narrow band SHO (Sulfur, Hydrogen, Oxygen) from my backyard during last night's #Astrophotography 🔭📷 session. Slightly psychedelic colors but I like those 🫠. The stars are RGB though. Am I spot on @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social ?

Fantastic job, great contrast with the surrounding area 🤩

Yes that’s true, it was my longest project so far. I’ll add another 12 hours next year to catch up with you 😁😉

🔭W63 is a supernova remnant located in Cygnus. This narrowband image shows Ha, OIII and SII emissions. This object is large and very faint, I needed more than 70 hours of exposure time overall.

The bane of all #astrophotography 🔭 📷 amateurs is stars throwing a tantrum right next to tiny, delicate, nebulae...Navi is such a star, glowing from just beyond the top left corner of this image of the Ghost of Cassiopeia #IC63 I shot from my backyard 🙂. What do you see @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
The Ghost of Cassiopeia nebula shot with a 130mm Astro-Physics refractor and a dedicated cooled Poseidon-M monochrome astronomy camera. Filters used were RGB Antlia V-Pro filters for the RGB stars, and Baader 6.5nm narrow band H-alpha and OIII filters for the emission lines of hydrogen and oxygen. Narrowband images : 139x120s for H-alpha, 109x120s for OIII. RGB images : 60x30s for each RGB channel.

Voici NGC 4725, une belle galaxie spirale dans la Chevelure de Bérénice ! C'est pas la saison ? Haha oui, ce sont mes photos d'avril que je viens de traiter 😅
N'est-elle pas tout mignonne ?

Probably more fish like because there already is a proper seahorse nebula 🤷‍♂️
