Tron was a property Disney owned and could revive for young male audiences which iirc they were struggling with in the 00s. Then the MCU exploded, Disney bought Star Wars and that demo was covered. Idk if it's coincidence that a new Tron is coming out when both the MCU and Star Wars are floundering.

Pretty confused by how TRON became a big-budget movie franchise. Was it a bit hit when it came out? No. Did it become a big hit on video/TV? Also no. Do people have fond nostalgic memories of it? Eh kinda but not really. Was it secretly great and critically acclaimed? No again

Thinking about the amazing timeline where Jimmy Fallon left SNL, did a couple of mediocre movies, and then disappeared forever so we never had to hear about him ever again, instead of this hell world where he's in charge of the biggest show in late night and I constantly have to see his stupid face.

I had a 'The Bear'-esque dining sequence when I worked in a big kitchen for a summer and they routinely made us cut our breaks to like one 15 minute lunch per 10 hour day. I don't need to experience that again.

A lot of King's work features racism or blatant racist epithets, and my kindest reading of it is always that it is an honest depiction of the everyday racism that exists in America and is largely ignored by those who don't experience it, but it's equally likely to just be deployed for shock value. 🤷‍♂️
