they can pressure you, there's stagger meters and also just crowd control is a thing. the flashy combos feel like a reward for smart play, either herding mobs or efficent boss damage

you have a dodge and can get a block and both have just frame perfect inputs but the outcome of that input is dependent on your build. the dodge has a lot of end-lag too so regular positioning is often more advantageous to get attacks in earlier

biggest drawback is, once again, it's a roguelike and so things like blocking and double jumping are going to be defined on a per-run basis. if you are sad every action game is a roguelike now i sympathise as i also prefer hand crafted campaigns but i'm not gonna let that stop me from enjoying them

not only are they definitely not clicking on a story or review for your indie game but after they play the one that blows up from northenlion's stream they will post "every indie game is just balatro but x slop now" at anything vaguely similar. and thats if you're lucky enough not to get harassed
