The WGN-TV employee detained by federal agents last week in Lincoln Square was released without charges and intends to “pursue all legal avenues” to hold the federal authorities accountable, her lawyer said in a statement.
WGN employee released without charges after she was 'violently detained' by federal agents, her lawyer says
Debbie Brockman, of WGN's creative services department, is a U.S. citizen not acting in a professional capacity when she was arrested Friday in Lincoln Square.

Here’s an example of journalism failing to meet the moment, describing blatant, ongoing lawbreaking this way:

How W. E. B. Du Bois responded to government policing of "anti-American" sentiment during the 1910s:

"I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, 'We are seeking to have the Constitution of the United States thoroughly and completely enforced.' ”
Federal agents invaded even the offices of The Crisis and the National Association for the advancement of colored people and asked searching questions: " just what, after all, were our objects and activities?” I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, “We are seeking to have the constitution of the United states thoroughly and completely enforced.” It took some ingenuity, even for Southerners, to make treason out of that.

With no reporters able to ask questions, it seems the Pentagon leadership will rely on slick social media posts, carefully orchestrated short videos and interviews with partisan commentators and podcasters.

No one should think that's good enough. “

Opinion: Why I'm handing in my Pentagon press pass

I performed in a production of The Laramie Project a few years ago, playing many characters including Matthew Shepard’s father, Dennis, delivering a statement at the sentencing hearing. It was an intense, deeply meaningful, challenging show. Grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of it.

YES.

Perhaps ironically, in 1951 we issued a stamp honoring the 75th anniversary of the American Chemical Society, and another celebrating the ACS’s hundredth anniversary in 1976.

In 1981, we honored Rachel Carson on a stamp because she eloquently warned that chemicals were destroying our environment and poisoning us. (“Woke” before her time...)

Today, chemical-industry lobbyists hold top jobs at the Envrionmental “Protection” Agency.

Will they get their own stamps?
