Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.

The Landsat 4 remote sensing satellite was launched by NASA in 1982 and later operated by the commercial company EOSAT for NOAA and USGS until it was retired in 2001. It reentered over the China-Vietnam border area on Oct 8.

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

Donald Trump will not be tomorrow's Nobel Peace laureate.

The consideration of the candidates takes place over months within the committee.

What Trump has accomplished in Israel's war on Gaza is only words so far. There have been good words before

Trump was barely awake through it and was unable to handle questions. I've only watched clips, but nobody except Noem seems to have said anything notable. And we all have guessed from the Caribbean strike that extrajudicial killing is their ambition.

I think that last is the point, but I wonder whether there's any meaning we should take from that meeting. It was all people from within the administration - no city officials to testify to their difficulties with crime or the freedom that the National Guard had brought to their city.

Good. If they don’t have to change laws to get new powers, they simply have to lie about the facts and say existing laws applies, that’s unlimited dictatorship.

"I simply cannot credit [the Trump administration's] declarations to the extent they contradict state and local law enforcement. … DHS' perception of events are simply unreliable."

#BREAKING A federal judge say she will grant "in part" a request by the state of Illinois for a temporary restraining order against the deployment of National Guard troops into the state.

U.S. District Judge April Perry is still ruling and has not outlined the details of her order.
