Sean Duffy, the U.S. transportation secretary, has been urging people for the past week to dress and comport themselves better as a way of restoring “civility” to air travel. On Tuesday, he added another item to his list of concerns: the quality of the snacks handed out on commercial flights.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy Wants Healthier In-Flight Snack Options
Sean Duffy, who has been promoting greater decorum among air travelers, said he would like to see choices besides salty pretzels and buttery cookies.

I have not read the full Witkoff transcript. The snippets I've seen can be interpreted 2 ways: 1) He is collaborating with Russia, and 2) He does not understand the negotiations, nor what is necessary to even start talking about ending the war and is making a ploy to show good will to the Russians.

Apart from my work laptop (which is 3 years old as Macs are on a 5 year cycle vs 3 years for windows), my personal laptop is still a 2017 MacBook Pro. Shockingly it still works and it still gets patch updates. Unlike the android phone I had for testing, which bricked after 18 months.
This will never be me - I bought an M4 Mac Air just before my book tour - but I think the premise of "device hoarding" here is ridiculous. With every major purchase, buy as well as you can and then use that thing until you can't use it any more. That's just sensible.

Non lethal usually makes police feel more comfortable about using these tools instead of seeking more effective options like deescalation by talking to protesters directly.

The question I get asked most often is how to understand Trump's push-me-pull-me Ukraine policy. To me there are a few constants that don't change:
1) He really wants to end the war fast. Results over process.
2) He respects Putin and wants a good relationship with Russia. 👉

Averages hide that its specific fields that are suffering the most with this crackdown on international students (which just hurts the US in the long run).
Where I work, grad student enrollment in Engineering and Business is down 70% and 40%, respectively.

Now, to cover the loss in revenue from these Departments, the rest of the colleges have to take MASSIVE hits. History Dept alone has cut/closed 6 TT lines. Forget about raises or salary equity. 🫠
Enrollment by international students from China dropped by 3 percent, from India by 4 percent, and enrollment from students from Mexico has flatlined. Here are the likely consequences for Texas' education and economy:
