Barry seems to have sneaked in a reference to John Peel show The Perfumed Garden, broadcast from the North Sea on pirate station Radio London in 1967.

Barry and his Studio pals Berni Wrightson, Michael Kaluta & Jeffrey Catherine Jones look like some hippy band Peely might have played on his show.

Come and visit.
Slade in Flame next month.🔥
Bit of a sticky floor but you were great there last time, thought you may have outgrown it. Castle opposite a bit cosy, nearby Night & Day Cafe, Deaf Institute I'm sure you could fill; White Hotel, in the shadow of Strangeways, perfect for you, like walking through downtown Baltimore to get there!
I'm sorry, I had thought that you lads had compiled that playlist!

Very sorry to hear this. I guess Gulliver's can no longer accommodate your bourgeoning interplanetary craft. Have you tried consulting booking kingpin Fliss? Let me know if you want me to launch the Local Space Scouting Vessel to investigate potential docking stations.

You wouldn't have guessed it from seeing NIGHT OF THE LEPUS, but this is a pretty audacious, terrific source novel (which the film almost totally ignores).

Thinking about doing another printrun of my first-ever book, WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU! CANNIBAL MOVIES. Chas Balun brilliantly edited the ms. down to bite-size and ran his edit (with my blessing) in THE DEEP RED HORROR HANDBOOK (1989); getting interest anew from folks. Maybe it's time...

Favorite monster magazines of the 1960s—purchased this one at age 12, off a newsstand in Plattsburgh, NY, while visiting relatives. Still have my full set of CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEINs, which I treasure to this day.

Fell asleep early last night, so the Light and Darkness War #2 ended up being a Tuesday morning comic read!

The Vietnam Vets must grow their forces as they learn a lord of darkness plans to bring deadly weapons over from Earth to escalate the war.

The TrueVision process wasn’t 3-D, no matter how they tried to sell it, but it was pretty damned cool regardless. Simply put, backgrounds were slightly muted, foregrounds used bright colors, small portions of the art overlapped panel borders, and it was all printed on black paper.
Reminds me of the 'Deep Dimension' comics #AlexToth drew for Lev Gleason in the 1950s. "NO GLASSES NEEDED"! They just distorted the page shape and encouraged Alex to demonstrate his genius for depth, graduated layering and perspective.
