I have just cast my vote in the nationwide elections and co-decided on the future of the Czech Republic.

I hope we will manage to keep it a significantly freer and more sane country than the one our role model in this regard for a really long time has been turning into; the USA.

And btw, I’ve always hated it for non-Czech surnames. Kim Basingerová, Aretha Franklinová, Steffi Grafová… they all sound strange and forced.

Not really; in Czech, gendered forms (-ová) exist only for feminine surnames. :-)
