New songs! Hydra and Sightlines on my latest, Dance Card. Lofi music to move you and make you move!
sweetfreeze.bandcamp.com/album/dance-...
Cover art featuring the main image and signature of an 1874 Edward Munch illustration called Death and the Woman which depicts a nude woman dancing in an embrace with a skeleton. On either side are excerpts from a 1905 dance card listing a sequence of such dances as Waltzes, Quadrilles, Two Steps, written in cursive. The release title is Dance Card by Sweet Freeze.

Wife: Calmly accepts the $3 off like a normal person.

Me: Rage, rage into the night! Take your senior citizen discount and fuck right off Heidi’s Pies!!!
A breakfast menu shows a senior citizen discount for diners 55 years and older, which frankly I consider a personal insult. WTF.

I'm so proud of everyone from my old neighborhood of Rogers Park in Chicago. I see what you have been and are doing. I am so proud of how organized the community is and how much more so everyone is becoming. It is inspiring. Just one example... And this is something EVERYONE can do. Everyone.
Informational flyer about Rogers Park Whistle Protocols, explaining how to use whistles to alert neighbors of emergencies, with color-coded alerts, steps for use, and encouragement to form a crowd and stay loud for safety.

sometimes i think i'm kind of a shoddy artist but then i remember 1) nobody gives a shit, and 2) i'm fucking manet compared to AI, check out my range
ft by naps (2016) album cover. it's a greyscale collage of a lot of photos all transparent and blended together in a cacophony of silhouettes and faces and leaves and fabric and texture and form rotoscope-style drawing of Potty Mouth that i made as a cover image for the 'Bedhead Sessions', a brief feature of the Ithaca Voice where i'd videotape performances of local and touring bands at their houses/where they were crashing if they were staying in town on tour. anyway, it's green and pink and four young musicians are holding their instruments warm-colored digital painting of two figures floating in a night scene at a university campus collage of other people's photographs for a mixtape featuring the included musicians. Solange is cut from a color image in the center of the composition. everyone else is in black and white, some posing for promo photos, some performing on stage

Ha! Thanks, Kate!
There’s a full documentary about Mission of Burma on YouTube that is really quite good.

Mission of Burma was such a blind spot for me. You can hear me astonished at 17:00 in this interview as @natlyon.com shares stories of their live shows and how game changing they were.

My neighborhood has loads of apples, plums, and pears on the ground so you're not alone in that! Sometimes I have to dodge them as they fall 😂 Have a great weekend too, Jonathan!

(Oops guess it's more than a few – looks like a dozen or so? Anyways, enjoy! 🍎)
katesattler.bsky.social
Ah that's lovely! Glad you were able to salvage a few. Do you have any special plans to cook or bake with them or just enjoy them as they are?

This is spectacular! Sounds like the start of a wonderful journey ✨

There's a fiber arts fair in my neighborhood and after yelling "YOU MADE THIS?! AMAZING! HOW?!" at every booth, one booth gave me some knitting needles and another sold me some recycled yarn, and I am so pumped about where this is going for me

(Also one booth had a GOAT, there was a goat!)

So sorry you're feeling this! So glad you're reaching out!

Sending care and good wishes and hopefully a sense that you're not alone. You're amazing and absolutely one of a kind. We're all here for you. 💖

Shout out to the camera person and audio editor. The way the camera person moves with the emotions is pure cinema.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

week 7, in a city under siege for 32 days and counting, and the students who are able to come to class despite the blitz are showing up like their lives depend on those 50 minutes of togetherness, poetry, and big questions
miriamposner.com
IDK, man. School started 2 weeks ago for us, and once again students remind me that they’re so curious and interested in the world and anxious to ask big questions. We hear that these questions are no longer useful or relevant, but wherever that’s coming from, it’s not what students believe.

While this is going on here, ICE has been spotted on foot + in vehicles across SW + NW sides of Chicago. Can't verify reports rn, but also presuming suburbs. Yesterday was brutal. It's not lost on us they have more agents free for weekend kidnappings now with their facility secured by state police.

Mamdani talking lucidly and passionately about trans rights and history in a video that should frankly shame every politician who has hemmed and hawed and triangulated and said, "Well, but sports..." It's not that hard to tell the truth and stand for what's right. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEvV...
