I can't speak for what was said at the protests, but seeing people react to an anodyne statement like "sacred spaces should not be used to promote activities in violation of international law" as if it were a vicious slur is clarifying.
Zohran Mamdani chastised a Manhattan synagogue that hosted an event promoting migration to Israel and settlements in occupied territories. His stance further tested his strained relationship with pro-Israel Jews in New York.

I’ll say more on this ltr, Mamdani picking Tisch for NYPD commish didn’t bother me much. I didn’t want him try to sell some new “diverse” & “progressive” person who wouldn’t be. Tisch was Adams’ THIRD CHOICE & not esp powerful. Not bad to have someone mediocre at NYPD who’s not yours while 👇 begins

idk how this is happening but even as statements like 'israel is committing genocide' are becoming more and more acceptable to say in public by people in positions of power, it feels like concern and support for palestinians keeps declining and shouldn't it be the other way around??

I’ve had a very similar question bouncing in my head: who’s inviting me to think critically, and who’s inviting me to outsource my questions to a theft-slop-plagiarism-machine? I appreciate the former and am deeply suspicious of the latter
Who invests in critical thinking and who invests in an AI chatbot to help you think will be really telling.

My mom said from Raleigh that people there were squaded up against ICE & ICE is leaving Raleigh & Durham tomorrow. She said there were trainings at churches for ICE watch & all kinds of things. She said "these are our people & ICE is not welcome." Alright mommy!
