How did we end up in a world where ICE agents are indistinguishable from the Proud Boys who stormed the Capitol on January 6?

VIGILANTE NATION tells the story of the insidious state laws behind MAGA's return to power, and it's out in paperback today.

The cover reads:

"The electrifying story of American democracy and its enemies" -- U.S. Congressman Jamie Raskin

Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

the Justices' attitude in the upcoming tariff case will be a nice test of whether they have any self-awareness about their complaints about the administrative state (derogatory)
david.noll.org
we should be honest and stop pretending that the constitution and laws provide any warrant for this capricious form of policymaking

Unbelievably, Antifa is demanding that "Congress shall make no law...abridging freedom of speech"! These people have gone too far.
david.noll.org
i just got back from Antifa headquarters.

they're making an INSANE new set of demands.

first, the radical left is saying, "no money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law."
david.noll.org
interesting that if you say the constitution creates a separation of powers systems in which there are no kings, they think you hate america
david.noll.org
damn i appreciate it
david.noll.org
these radical lunatics are marching on DC on Oct. 18. i encourage everyone to come out and see what they're really about.
david.noll.org
but the craziest demand is the third one.

i'm reporting here in full, because you have to see it to believe it:

"no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."
david.noll.org
second--get this--Antifa wants you to believe that the President "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed."

If you've never encountered the details of these events in 1919 and are wondering how bad it could possibly be: its absolutely fucking awful. Genuinely, horrendous.

I’m teaching abt Red Summer today, when white vigilantes & National Guardsmen across the country harassed, detained, assaulted, & murdered Black Americans as part of a backlash against Black military service in WWI.

Simply could not be more clear that the firings have nothing to do with the shutdown. It’s just people Trump and Vought have been planning to fire for a very long.

Seeing that some impacted workers who were not furloughed are receiving RIF notices - employees that are designated as essential during a shutdown, but are now being laid off.

Now that the local and national press have started to cover the Portland ICE area round-the-clock in reaction to the President, Antifa have devised a plan where they are encouraging one another to come in animal costumes.

The costumes serve the function of masking the violent extremism to make the direct action appear like a family-friendly gathering on camera, and to whitewash the past ultraviolence.

In 2019, Antifa devised a similar plot by giving out free "milkshakes" at a protest. But they couldn't contain their bloodthirst and nearly killed me when they saw me. In 2020, they mobilized a fake "Wall of Moms" where female Antifa supporters and members wore yellow shirts to act as human body shields while violent rioters behind them hurled projectile weapons.

iirc, some special AUSAs came in from NC to do the trial work in Comey's case. Halligan is doing the grand jury presentations because the other attorneys in the office want to keep practicing law.
