I think Trump is going to do a Michigan Man of the Year and just invent a fictitious peace prize he won.

"I won the Norbiggle Peace Prize, not a lot of people know that. The Norbiggle, people are saying it's even more prestigious than the Nobel, which nobody wants anymore."

What happened to the voters list this year? How many others were dropped off of it and didn't bother to deal with it for all kinds of good reasons?

1. I was not on the voter's list.
2. I called and was told I needed to come in person to register.
3. I went down to register, and then was told to come back when my ballot was ready.
4. The postal strike + work travel meant I could not just vote on election day, and could not mail in my ballot.

I needed to take 3 trips to city hall this year in order to vote - I was not on the voters list despite living in the same house for 18 years. The average person would not take these extra steps. Voter turnout is partially a function of electoral management. Let us assess our processes, St John's.

Also fun fact, searching for “divorce anthems” on spotify leads to all kinds of entertaining playlists including some separated out by moms versus dads! What a genre!

I can only imagine. It’s really well done. And the fact that this is so friggin common and basically built into the structure is…well…you know.

Well, I, for one, am proud of us for doing the sensible thing and basing our entire economy on computers that tell kids to kill themselves

This is spot on. Our capitulation to the ‘inevitability’ of AI couldn’t come at a worse time.

Say it often, say it loud:

"Overall, research has not supported the common-sense presumption that digital approaches to schooling are better than non-digital alternatives. At the broadest level, widespread computer use in education has been found to be associated with lower student achievement."

An actual job ad: “When we refer to ‘women’ we mean those assigned female at birth. . . . Successful candidates will be asked to produce [a] passport or full birth certificate. . . . It is expected that this documentation will be in the female gender.”

What a disgrace @newnhamcollege.bsky.social
Screenshot of part of a job ad posted on the website of Newnham College, University of Cambridge:

“Following the Supreme Court’s decision in For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers [2025], when we refer to ‘women’ we mean those assigned female at birth. . . . The successful candidate will be asked to produce identification documentation (e.g. passport or full birth
certificate). It is expected that this documentation will be in the female gender.”
