It seems particularly relevant that the Wikipedia entry also notes that it was filmed in Texas so they wouldn't have to deal with unions...

I want to make it perfectly clear I've got nothing against TRON: ARES. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

But what I want most is for the younger generations to love going to the movies, which means we need more movies for them. Not every movie needs to be for 50 year old white guys.

...2 years later someone says "Hey we're having a retirement party for King Ralph." I said, "Didn't he retire years ago?" "Nah, he just stopped coming to work."

This is the sort of shit I dealt with there every day for seven years.

Also, absolutely none of the characters here are as weird as the actual real-life people I worked with at that newspaper. Like we had this one guy, Ralph, who legend says had a lifetime job guarantee in his contract. Management either could not or would not fire him or lay him off...

I was mildly, morbidly intrigued by the new OFFICE spinoff, both because I loved THE OFFICE and because I have also worked at a small struggling daily newspaper. And while I recognize some of those struggles here, I don't find this pilot episode very *funny*. Like, this is my favorite joke so far
Oscar, formerly of "The Office" tells the documentary crew of "The Paper" that they do not have permission to use his voice... Oscar continues to tell the documentary crew that they cannot use his likeness or his face... A title card telling the audience that they can use Oscar's voice and likeness because "There's no end date on the release Oscar signed in 2005."

I don't remember either Dylan OR Springsteen being a murderer on Columbo, so I'd slow down with rating artists on the Cool Scale

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?
