Good Morning!
Starting the week thinking about the birds. Vote here.

Excellent folks at Friends of Paganini and Food Trees for Black Cockatoos are both doing a great job in providing food and watering stations to support our local Karrakin.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Raghad. Raghad is 22 years old and was finishing her studies to be a nurse. She wanted to go into nursing because her mother had a stroke that made her lose movement in her arms and legs. They are now displaced with her 10 siblings.

"Greta totally betrayed her commitment to the environment"

A) it's not actually a bad thing to be an activist and see something like GENOCIDE happening and having your priorities change a bit

B) Y'all think war and genocide and colonization and all of that aren't* related to the f-ing environment?

Good news via UN:
Humanitarian scaleup in Gaza is underway & "today brought some real progress." For 1st time since March, cooking gas entered the Strip. More tents for displaced families, frozen meat, fresh fruit, flour & medicines also got in. UN & partners distributed 1000s of hot meals & bread

I met my husband of 30+ years (counting unmarried living together years) on a MUD in the early 90s before social media.

For social media, I've made friends I wouldn't've found otherwise, found community, and learnt things that I may never have stumbled across otherwise

I'm old enough to remember when pretty much all of the mainstream media regularly praised Abbott for being the politician with the deepest connection to Indig Australians because he visited a community every year, patted some kids on the head and hammered a few nails.

poor old Tony Abbott is on the public broadcaster dismissing the oldest and longest continuous oral histories in the history of humanity as “hearsay” how’s your morning going.

Both Headspace and Project Rockit making the point that if the ban is about getting kids to go outside and socialise in person, a lot of in-person places for young people are taken away now. They're moved on, can't hang around shopping centres etc anymore.

Ditto to ABA 'therapy' for autistic kids. It's abuse and only teaches them to mask which will have highly negative mental health impacts later, like suicide.

"Conversion therapy" is a polite name for something that isn’t conversion and isn’t therapy. It’s abuse.

The devastation in Gaza can't be overstated. The civilians rely on our donations to survive.

Please give to my friend Tasneem so she can feed her children. And to others. ❤️

Most of these people are deeply trained, or at least highly educated, in humanities. Knowing isn’t being.
