The FBI got a ton of mail asking if the John Birch Society was communist or subversive. This particular woman was a Bircher who wrote to ask if the JBS was communist.

Vancouver threw a proper fit when David Duchovny mentioned in a joke that it rained here. It's a very skinned city and she could easily have landed a critique. But that would take knowing how to string compelling words together without relying on stereotypes, bigotry and cliches.

Drugs and prohibited firearm seized in warrant execution
Cash, drugs and gun seized from Campbell River residence
On September 5, 2025, the Campbell River RCMP Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of several support and frontline units, Police Dog Services and the Island District Emergency Response team executed simultaneous search warrants at properties located in the 800 block of Homewood Road and the 800 block of Greenwood Road as part of a lengthy drug trafficking investigation.

As part of the searches, police seized the following suspected controlled substances:

128 grams of Fentanyl;
140 grams of cocaine;
19 grams of crack cocaine;
47 grams of methamphetamine;
250 suspected prescription hydromorphone pills.

The obvious reason Ken Sim is going for a 0% austerity budget is next year's election.

But it's also because the impacts of austerity are slow and won't all be felt right away. It's why he's doing it in the last year of his mandate and not his first.

Actually the most notable thing here is her termination was "without cause" meaning the party is paying her severance out of this. Seems like cause would've been pretty justifiable to me but it's their donor's money they want to give away.

I'm pretty sure they're on full strike. That is, the only things getting delivered right now are cheques from the government to those who don't have auto-deposit (because CUPW aren't monsters) but everything else is just secured and will be delivered when they're back at work. Unfortunately
