My latest: Charlie Kirk was a gutter bigot who built his career on censorship and bussed insurrectionists to the Capitol on J6. Why are liberals like Ezra Klein trying to paint him as a paragon of reason and dialogue?
Why are some liberals turning Charlie Kirk into a martyr for liberal democracy?
Holding him up as a champion of dialogue paints him in a false light to millions who might only know him in death, writes Lindsay Beyerstein.

We've found him, the one person who will say no to Trump:
Trump wants a bigger White House ballroom. His architect disagrees.
The president and James McCrery had argued in recent weeks over the project’s size, with Trump pushing him to expand the ballroom.

This seems like an important story.
The US is deregulating banks. Will the rest of the world follow?
New rules will boost lending and profits and entrench American dominance. But critics say they could lead to another crash

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

I was watching a guy fighting a traffic ticket. He was explaining how the turn he made was legal because traffic had been rerouted for the parade and the judge exclaims: "I was in that parade!" He beat the ticket.

Did we ever find out what stories Olivia Nuzzi allegedly caught and killed? Normally that means paying someone for information, locking them into an NDA, and not publishing their story.
The "reporter" lady fucking sources and running catch and kill ops is a huge part of the issue with journalism but so is the corrupt sack of shit ex who knew about all this and said nothing till he felt personally betrayed and is now tossing out tidbits in planned instalments to have you pay him

They’ve been enabled all their lives which is why they felt entitled enough to pull of J6. The pardon has emboldened them in those thoughts.
Lol it’s not soft on crime so much as it is enabling. January 6ers think a pardon = immunity from everything. So they keep doing illegal things thinking they’re protected forever.
A J6er pardoned by Trump just got arrested for crimes against two kids. One victim, only 11, says 44-year-old Andrew Paul Johnson abused him 3 times.

Kids pay the price for Trump's soft-on-crime policies.

NEW from me - NSF cancels grant scheme for social science research.

Seems the NSF quietly archived ALL calls for DDRIG grants in the SBE directorate. This is a massive blow for PhD students wanting to do cutting-edge social science research. 🏺🧪

A vaccine is a cheat sheet for your immune system.
💉 One thing I rarely see explained is how vaccination *is* "natural immunity".

The immunity is developed by your body not the vaccine. The vaccine itself doesn’t do the work.

I think the confusion partly comes from a phrase scientists use. 🧵⬇️

RFK Jr.’s new CDC deputy director prefers “natural immunity” over vaccines
Ralph Abraham is “dangerous,” but somehow not the worst among those considered.
