This would make sense if there hadn’t been a Biden presidency sandwiched by Trump’s power grabs that did nothing to stop a known threat. Understanding why we are consistently unable to respond is the first and most critical solution we need. Even now, Dem leadership will mount an effective counter.

Trump's big, ugly budget megabill gave ICE more cops than the FBI, more jails than the federal Bureau of Prisons, and a larger budget than most countries' militaries. Once the bill is fully implemented, nowhere in America will be safe from Trump's secret police state.

Yes but that’s not my argument. She won’t go after the power they’ve accumulated or the structures that allow it to persist. She doesn’t discuss their complicity or corruption, the role they play in our dysfunctional info- sphere, it’s threat to democracy, nor how any of that came to be.
