Vacherot, ranked 204, won a Masters 1000. 4-6,6-3,6-3 vs Rinderknech. Insanity from start to finish. Tennis cendrillon or something!

Def a case where you’d want both to win

It’s pretty rare indeed in tennis. It happened to Lucas Pouille this year. Mauresmo, ages ago. Lots of tendinitis but few rupture. I guess also because of all the injury prevention / flexibility work done.

Damn, so it was a ruptured Achilles tendon for Clijsters. She posted a video message on Instagram from her hospital bed.

So you know she’ll call practice again next year!

Improving her serve would be quite the game-changer indeed. But also Aryna really opened that door here.

Where did that come from!? lol

Family business in Shanghai. Crazy. Rinderknech / Vacherot for the title. True story.

And ends her 19 straight tiebreak wins streak dating back to February. What a win for Pegula!

Sabalenka losing her first match ever in Wuhan after being up 5-2 in the third vs Pegula (2-6,6-4,7-6(2)).

Nope, just said he was only sure to play Athens. Paris will appreciate… lol

He might be so mad at his body this year, really. But also on the other side it’s crazy he’s still so good out there. But yeah it was looking like a golden opportunity here… Not that he might care that much anymore. Wonder if he’ll still go to that exo in Saudi now…

Very fair point!! Here though I feel he was physically hampered from the start. But yeah, a trend it is indeed.

Obviously: lowest-ranked finalist of an ATP Masters 1000 history (since 1990). Another miracle in Shanghai: Djokovic’s body agreeing to reach these semifinals.

Vacherot beating Djokovic 6-3,6-4 to reach Shanghai’s final. Tennis… This is an insane journey for Vacherot. Insane!

Never thought Swiatek would be blasted like that by Paolini… 6-1,6-2. Another major setback regarding that throne chase.

That would have helped him immensely regarding the ATP Finals. But it seems Rinderknech is on a roll…

I jinxed Felix… Lost against Rinderknech, 6-3,6-4.

Auger-Aliassime with such a big push to make for the Finals while still in Shanghai… Cannot believe Vacherot is in the semifinals: what a freaking insane event he’s been having. Also it feels Shanghai started a year ago by now… Wonder how that translates on the grounds.

Oh no, seeing that Kim Clijsters injury in that exo in Luxembourg. Damn. Looks like the Achille. Shit.

End of a great run in Wuhan for Siniakova, reaching the quarterfinals coming from the qualifications. Lost today against Pegula, 2-6,6-0,6-3.
