Alcaraz said Royer was playing better and better while he was starting to feel really tired in the second set. Happy he pushed through and found his best tennis when needed.

A really good match in Doha between Mpetshi Perricard and Bergs! 🍿 Also Shake Schalke stand right next to the court so it’s giving US Open night session with all the burgers and fries smell.

Still so windy out there in Doha. Very tricky conditions for the players. Mensik escapes after losing the first set vs Choinski from 6-3 up in the first set TB. He was very solid mentally after that, came back from 0-2 in the third. 6-7(8), 6-2, 6-4. Seems he recovered well from that ab injury.

Carlos repeats he needs to improve so I ask him what you want to improve when you’re already that sky-high good. He says he’s trying to put himself in shoes of his rivals so he can prepare for how they’re gonna try to beat him + says he still has weaknesses in his game.

“When you play her, it feels like she’s kind of fearless,“ Muchova says about Mboko. Also said she knew Vicky loved the big hitters so she mixed it up way more. Says she’s proud proving people and herself she could go all the way to a title again.

Props to Muchova for taking big decisions this winter at 29 and hiring Groenveld who again is delivering.
