After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

So if Russ Vought and Bob Kennedy were deliberately trying on behalf of an enemy to sicken and kill Americans by destroying the public health structure - what would they be doing differently?

This is really interesting.
And it looks like at least 15 years of work!

Thank you and congratulations.

That's not mentioned, but they found hits to 2 compounds that interact with nicotinic‬‭ cholinergic‬‭ receptors, and a hint towards an effect of caffeine‬‭ "but its effect did not reach statistical significance."

15 years in the making, we confirmed that mitochondria - the powerhouse of the cell - have an unusual localization in patients who experience psychosis (including schizophrenia and bipolar disorders). You’ll never guess what kind of patient cells we used to make this discovery… 🧵
mitochondria from bipolar patients are closer to the nucleus in these images; control patients' are spread out further

Trump has hired over 100 fossil fuel insiders to staff his administration and advance the industry's agenda.

Is it any wonder why his Big Ugly Bill contains more than $40B in new subsidies and tax breaks for Big Oil?

There will be tears, especially for conservation and community, and bumps in funding grid technology and infrastructure, but the US renewable market is driven more by finance than concerns for climate, community or environment.

Texas also has limited (no?) local permitting: landowners and power generators negotiate deals on power plant location, including VPPs.
In contrast, California's county-level regulation has hamstrung distributed (domestic) renewables, even while it empowers local communities.
Why did Newsom veto California’s virtual-power-plant bills?
Supporters say the bills would have helped ease the state’s energy affordability crisis while strengthening grid reliability.

You're right, but Texas's stand-alone grid and single state regulator (ERCOT) became assets to a renewable free market.
They implemented 'connect and manage', facilitating large scale plants, and an Aggregate Distributed Energy Resources pilot that enabled Base Power's virtual power plant start-up.

Australian mammals extinct since colonisation: 39 species

"This is far more than for any other country. These losses represent about 10% of all Australia’s land mammal species before colonisation.
It is a deplorable record of trashing an extraordinary legacy."
And then there were none: Australia’s only shrew declared extinct
The tally of Australian mammals extinct since 1788 is now 39 species – far more than for any other country
