I don't often play daily anymore? but I try to keep them updated patch to patch for the stories that I look forward to catching up on. it's a nice thing that I can just depend on being there right where I left it. I completely understand others' ambivalence but these games just mean so much to me

it's an outlet to funnel hyperfixation into when I am feeling restless, it's something that I can just... have a ton of knowledge about and draw on any time, and fun enough gameplay that's not too challenging that I can just like, genuinely relax with and forget about work and other stress...

I always understand and even often agree with the criticism of genshin (and other hyv games), but... I can't deny that these games have always brought a special sort of safety net for me whenever I open them up and see my favorite characters and areas, hear all of the overworld music, etc.
