learned recently that the guy who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," clement clarke moore, also wrote a takedown of thomas jefferson's proto-scientific racism in "Notes on the State of Virginia," basically accusing him and others of making it up to justify slavery. which, that's right.

I read the studies they used for the "protein powder is high in lead" thing and we really need to fire our news teams on a national level cuz it was quite literally fear mongering. The ones that were "high in lead" had the basically the same amount as like...carrots

One, because it's an important thing to sit down and think about. Do you use spell/grammar check? Do you run paragraphs through Chat GPT for editing/clarity?

Well, this is going to sit with me for a very long time. Especially on the anniversary of my father's passing. I'm guilty of telling our people to "get checked out"--as if our shorter lifespans are our fault. But the time and money to get "checked out" is a privilege not afforded to everyone.
