To be 100% upfront, this year is rough. Due to the tariffs, NONE of the toy companies who’ve worked with us in years past are able to pitch in. I went to the store just to put together these demo baskets. Even if you can’t buy a full basket, smaller donations are appreciated!

Rest in peace Drew Struzan. My condolences to his family and friends.
Dread Struzan poster. Drew in the middle, with Lucas and Spielberg on either side. Drew art from Star Wars, E.T., Indiana Jones and other movies surround them.

While I think you make a good point, Star Wars books always have to work under restraints.
Before the prequels, Luke went on a quest to find his mother. Authors weren't allowed to talk about certain planets or species. It's a curse of IP writing.

Tom (as ever) makes an amazingly good point here. I also want to add something (along with my musings yesterday) about the Law of Hypothetical Outcomes. I'm going to tell a story that doesn't have an ending (yet) but, like many great stories, it involves @kristinbaver.bsky.social

Random fun fact of the day - women are the reason #StarWars #publishing exists. And the reason it has been so successful that it could endure as it has for so many decades.

(I'm an expert on this stuff)

Not a fan of Courtship, but your point is well made. So much was mined and spun off from Courtship.

As soon as I saw the announcement I knew that would happen. This is why we can't have nice things.

We wouldn’t have the Star Wars books we have without Carol Titelman and Lucy Wilson getting it started and keeping it running when it mattered the most in the early years.

For #IndigenousPeoplesDay, enjoy this thread of past articles wherein I put a Native lens to pop culture.

Always grateful for @io9dotcom.bsky.social letting me talk about Tusken Raiders in #StarWars and how they evolved in The Book of Boba Fett:

How The Book of Boba Fett Evolved Star Wars' View of the Tuskens
The latest Disney+ Star Wars series went to great lengths to infuse its Tusken tribe with influences from real-world Indigenous cultures.

Played I sooo much. Never played II, so I was surprised to find out recently that Rookie One is a guy, as I choose to be a female pilot in the first one.

I had to get up very early to see that on NBC on Sat morning. So early that the test pattern was still on ABC, lol.

I would like to see more announcements for 2026. More about the next Mask of Fear novel. At the least, a tease of a new initiative. And what is Chris Kempshall working on?
