I’m going to dodge the broader JKR discussion but I re-read TDiR a few years ago and Susan Cooper’s writing is just wonderful, head and shoulders above the much more famous HP author.

Loved the Prydain Chronicles! Also The Dark is Rising, the Belgariad, the Wrinkle in Time saga — lots of fun and well-written YA fantasy back then.
