One more before I log off for the evening:

Just a reminder that the special price on the Artist Edition of Shackling ends tomorrow morning! So jump on that, lovers of doodled huts!

Little graphite doodles on a white background. The doodles are all different shapes and sizes and styles of chicken-legged witch huts. They're pretty cute.

"Morning in the Garden" is the cover art for my new book, Shackling ~ Tales from Baba Yaga's Garden

(KS launches tomorrow!)
Flatlay style photo on a black desk. There is a graphite drawing with some pencils around it and two flowers in the upper-right hand corner. The drawing is of a lady in a black dress standing in a garden, with four little Baba Yaga huts around her like chickens. There is a vague, larger Hut in the background. It's pastoral and sweet I guess?

Yea we’re completely in line! It’s the billionaire space tourism access and attitude which makes our work much much harder! Which is why I appreciated her statement; there’s a reason we’ve only sent up people who train for years

I love space, the research I do is related to the psychological and physiological effects of microgravity/space/isolation on the body and has resulted in incredible advances in medical knowledge all of which is to say yea she’s absolutely right

It feels like fall...the perfect time for a new Moonlit March painting! 🍂 Our woodland friends are gathering gourds and mushrooms for Mother Opossum’s Halloween feast. I started the drawing yesterday and hope to start painting tomorrow.

Cinderella is adjusting her glass slipper with a pumpkin hilted sword strapped to her back and in discussion with puss-in-boots while a group of four other warrior princesses wait for her. Each has signifiers suggesting their past such as Snow White’s apple embroidered surcoat, Sleeping Beauty’s rose crown, the Little Mermaid’s trident

I painted these as my big middle finger to authoritarianism. They feel more relevant by the day. I'm turning them into print sets and will be donating the proceeds. What orgs would you like to see these funds go to?
Three fantasy portraits side by side, the first is painting in gold and orange tones and is a woman looking to the left super imposed with a rabbit and the text below "I hear you". The second is is in vibrant pinks, she is super imposed with a tiger staring straight at the viewer with the text below "I see you". The third she is looking up and to the right, painting is cyans and blues, super imposed with a raven and the text below "I will speak up".

Our neighbors gifted us a little fig sapling that was sprouting up next to their adult fig tree and I painted them a thank you card! Times like this I'm really glad to be an artist because I can give something back to generous folks!

The Irish government has released a report on the benefits of the pilot for a Basic Income for the Arts, and in a total shocker, it seems like it was good for the country as well as the artists.

Nobody could have seen this coming.

Robert Redford on Richard Nixon's death. Not much changes, I guess.
As the man who made All the
President’s Men, how did you feel
when Nixon died?

I had no remorse. I did not think he
deserved the kudos he got in death
— there was this weird revisionism
that went on. You feel for the
family. There’s some sympathy for
that. But for me it was not the
passing of a great man. He was a
man who dealt us some pretty
undignified blows. He did not
symbolize the better part of
ourselves at all.
