this is only literary opinion adjacent but it is definitely unhinged

when I am stocking copies of a face-out book at the bookstore, I will put the fresh copies behind any copies already on the shelf, because they’ve been waiting their turn to be picked and I don’t want their feelings to get hurt

The commodification of stories has completely hampered the madcap power & possibility of the written word.

While I have nothing against long form series, we’re losing patience as society for things that can’t be easy packaged & sold.

The biggest casualty is poetry, especially the long form kind.

Tess and I have been talking about doing more digital coloring books. We want to do more themed books like an all girls, all monsters, pop culture themed, etc. Being able to switch digital has made it a lot easier to share art with everyone.

Oh that’s exciting! I think you’re going to rock it! That’s what I love about this event- the stakes are what we make of them, so they almost don’t exist at all. It’s the perfect excuse to just play, & go to places creatively you may not normally go & see what happens!
