I would vote for Davey Johnson for the Hall of Fame.
He’s short as a manager, and short as a player, but his career meets the bar for me under Rule B for his “overall contribution to the game of Baseball.”
It stuck out to me too, though the full sentence is relevant: “Unrelenting ace was the rock of three franchises’ staffs, delivering each to the postseason.”
As I recall he did really pull that team into the playoffs with an amazing half season but yeah, makes me furrow my brow a tad.
