Went to The Harder They Come musical tonight at Stratford East. In some ways better than the film and in some ways not. Here endeth the world’s least helpful review. Oh - but it’s great fun.

Bought this on CD having never heard it after a glowing 5* review in the Guardian. Felt unlistenable at the time. Should probably give it another go. Expect it’s great now.

So went to a 40th anniversary screening of My Beautiful Laundrette this evening at the amazing Cinema Museum in Elephant and Castle. The themes of racism, homophobia and gentrification don’t seem to have become as outdated as they should have done.
It does my fucking head in.
