i do wish more wrestlers had the attitude of leaving a promotion better off than when they got there than just seeing them as a stepping stone to more fame, money, and opportunities. takesoup is a real one, potentially the best to ever come up through the DDT system

i was glad that danielson set the record straight on commentary this past dynamite. i know also that they're doing it for storyline purposes but the more they invoke senpai/kouhai wrong the more people are going to misinterpret it and it bugs me how people use it already lol

So Kenny Omega was in DDT Pro-Wrestling about 10 years ago. So, he was my mentor in DDT. Always after the match, many advice and yeah, he said, ‘You can be big star, big wrestler.’ So, I believed that his advice. So, I think I can become, now, a big step, big step… But, he was not DDT wrestler. He was New Japan then AEW. Little, I was sad. I thought always, he’s mentor, my mentor. So then, I was growing up always in DDT in 10 years but, I thought his growing up stopped so okay, DDT, New Japan, AEW, what are you doing now?… So I thought, now, I can beat him anytime.

Omega has helped introduce you to an even larger audience in North America. You and Kenny both have ties to DDT. What makes it so meaningful to wrestle him in AEW?

Takeshita: The number-one reason I came to AEW was to wrestle Kenny Omega. When I was in DDT with Kenny, I was just about two years into my career, and I was a teenager. Now that I have grown up and experienced many things, I wanted to fight again.

After Kenny Omega left DDT, I tried to make DDT exciting in my own way. It was very difficult. The quality of the matches would change. I've been staring at the back of “The Best Bout Machine” for a long time.
