My favorite sports pundit (UrinatingTree) said it best:

Buffalo's in the same situation Philly was: They escaped too many close calls, they played with fire too often and got burned by it.

Josh Allen can't bail you out every damn time, Sean.

SAM Shortline is an underrated excursion operation and folks need to see how good it is 😊

This is why railroads should NOT listen to hedge fund bros who are only in it for a quick buck.

BNSF continues to be the only based Class 1.

Active Duty USAF member here (going on a decade of service); I can attest to the Commissary and the BX being some of the best shops in the area - depending on what’s available. 😎👍🏼

I’m not impressed by the shutdown, btw. I just don’t want them f**king with my money. 😒

If only Amtrak didn’t shoot themselves in the foot by not sponsoring excursions.

Calling them “operational distractions” in 2018 was damning.

To close, I’d like to pull a quote from @donoteat.bsky.social: “Fuck you. Let people have nice things.”

If you can see this, quote the energy you bring to BlueSky.

Lots of things going on now that I’m in Georgia! Below is a thread of images from my most recent travels!

Sights include:
-Southeastern Railway Museum
-Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad
-North Georgia Live Steamers
A classic line marks the side of Atlantic Coast Line business car #307 at the Southeastern Railway Museum. The car is painted in the colors of the short-lived New Georgia Railroad. GE 50-ton switcher #3 and SW7 #8202 sit outside of the Southeastern Railway Museum’s display areas. Both engines are used for short train rides around the property. Savannah & Atlanta 4-6-2 #750 (built by ALCO in 1910) is a star attraction of the museum, after enjoying a long career in regular passenger service and as part of the Southern Railway steam program. A Miniature Train Company G-16 circles part of the museum grounds. This train (and a sister set) used to work at the Birmingham Zoo before coming to the museum.

The “Day Out With Thomas” events are always a zoo, but generate a lot of revenue for the railroad! 😉

And I’ve been to Carpenter’s Graveyard; great photo location, especially when trains make the return trip to East Strasburg!
Thomas the Tank Engine (formerly Brooklyn East District Terminal #15) pulls a train back to East Strasburg during the 2014 Day Out With Thomas event. A groundskeeper tends to Carpenter’s Graveyard as a local freight train passes on the background. Photo taken in November 2021 during a special photographer-only charter.

Active Duty Air Force member here. I did play slots a bit in South Korea during my time there, but never to the point of getting into debt 😅 If I got a win, I wisely took the money and ran! 😂

I’m no BossmanJack (look him up to see the definition of “Gambling Addict”).

I don’t think there is one 😅 But there is a “National Train Day” that is unofficially recognized here in the USA. It’s the Saturday closest to May 10th, when the Transcontinental Railroad was completed in 1869.

I don’t post photos of myself very much, but here’s a look at me volunteering at the South Carolina Railroad Museum this past weekend. 😊🚂
Giving the traditional call of “Y’ALL ABOARD!” as we board passengers for one of the Blue Granite Express trips. During the ride, I relay the history of the railroad and local area to the passengers. While waiting for the passengers of our BBQ Dinner Train to finish eating at Rion Quarry, I take some time to “talk shop” with Robert - another dedicated volunteer.
