the best times i have had on the social media was Sept-Dec 2018 on mastodon, and July-Dec 2023. Something about those times when a site is young and every user is relatively new creates the best environment for meeting a variety of people.

like, this is not a path worthy of the BILLIONS of dollars and the reservoirs of water that we have devoted to researching and enlarging.

all that’s occurring right now is companies have sunk so much money into it and are too scared to be the first to declare it as the failure it is.

we’re talking about different things. does it use the same structure as an LLM & other types of generative AI or is it using deductive reason? i do not believe the LLM “giant predictor machine that looks like it understands chinese but actually is just usinng the big code book” can ever become AI.

they did a welfare check on him over the summer when folks hadn’t seen him in awhile, but he was able to walk around and be lucid.
