like, this is not a path worthy of the BILLIONS of dollars and the reservoirs of water that we have devoted to researching and enlarging.

all that’s occurring right now is companies have sunk so much money into it and are too scared to be the first to declare it as the failure it is.

we’re talking about different things. does it use the same structure as an LLM & other types of generative AI or is it using deductive reason? i do not believe the LLM “giant predictor machine that looks like it understands chinese but actually is just usinng the big code book” can ever become AI.

at what point do you just kind resign yourself that you’re probably never going to be able to get bottom surgery?

is it like, 10 yrs into transition? when you’re 45 yo? or whichever comes last?

yeah, i get that. but also, i don’t think i can actually hold out hope for it when i don’t have health insurance, or a path towards getting it. so like, easier to not think about it as a possibility, versus spending a lot of energy about something that is quite far out of reach.
