I remember reading about how in your late 30s/40s it's not uncommon to start perimenopause symptoms and the slew no one talks about like ITCHING WHY DOES MY ENTIRE BACK AND EARS FEEL LIKE I NEED TO SCRUB MYSELF WITH STEEL WOOL TO FEEL RELIEF.
I'm very upset about this I already suffering from hives.

Bruce Hornsby turns 71 today.

Of “The Way it Is”, he said: “I grew up in Virginia, and you could still feel the old lines — racial lines, economic lines — running through everyday life. The lyrics came from seeing those things .. I wasn’t trying to preach; I was just writing down what I saw.”

I take on average 10,000 stills and a half hour of video every week. Most I'll never think about again. This I'll hold onto until I grow old. 4 hours ago.

Zero edits. No recoloring. No cropping. Nothing. Just straight up reality. 🦑

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music
Do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
I’VE BECOME SO NUMB
I CAN’T FEEL YOU THERE
BECOME SO TIRED
SO MUCH MORE AWARE

Small things I mourn:

“Vibe” was one of my fav words for a long, long time, but the connotations & implications of using it have shifted so much that I just…

The vibe is off for saying “The vibe is off.” 😔
Someone is going to have the write the thing about how “vibe” has become a substitute for meaningful theory in a world where the theory is so clear — grift and power — but we collectively refuse if because it isn’t sophisticated enough to generate make work for empiricists.

While my ancestors were here pre-revolution, I doubt this will touch on the indentured servitude that they were subjected to. This reeks of the elementary style oh the glory of colonization with none of the pain to the civilizations that were already here or the people forcibly sent.
Neither Trump, nor half of his cabinet have “ancestors” who were in North America before the revolution. I’d guess that less than half of current US citizens do. “Your ancestors” is doing a lot of implicitly white Christian nationalist work here.

The Venn Diagram of people ineligible to work for NWS and people who think AI models are ready for a full takeover of their forecast tasks is pretty much a fucking circle at this point.

A friend had a scab on her face that just didn't heal. First doc dismissed it as eczema. Second one checked it and it was melanoma. They cut a huge amount out of her temple that left unchecked would have killed her likely within a year. But she caught it! And shes fine! Just get checked!
TL;DR, get yourself screened for melanoma regularly so that if you get it, it's just a boring annoying scar and the only thing that changes is getting deferred from giving blood for a year, instead of the big scary C-word that is catching it late.

The South is far more purple than election results indicate, but you're not going to shift anything in any significant way unless you restore the Voting Rights Act and follow through with finishing Reconstruction.

I drove out east to try and spy the aurora. My midwestern anti deer sensibilities won out though Jesus there were so many deer. It wasn't worth risking my car to try and find a spot not to mention it's like 35° and in true Florida fashion I am in flip flops and a light hoodie.
